How to group, and ungroup objects in Autodesk Maya

In this episode, we will show you how to group multiple objects in Autodesk Maya.  First, you need to select the objects you want to group, and then go to edit, and choose group, or press control+G.


Now you can open the outliner, to change the name of the group, and to remove objects from the group. Just go to window, and choose, Outliner. Just double click the name, and rename the group.

To remove an object, just select the object in the outliner, and while pressing the middle mouse button, drag the object outside the group. You can also add objects to the group like that. So select an object outside of the group, and while holding the middle mouse button, drag the object inside the group.

There are several ways, to select the group. The first one is to just select it in the outliner, or you can select one object from the group, and then hit the up arrow. If you want to ungroup the group, just make sure you have the group selected, and go to Edit, and choose, ungroup.
