In this episode, we will show you how to draw a simple Easter egg in Adobe Illustrator.
First, you need to click on the rectangle tool, and choose the Ellipse tool, or just press L.
Now you need to draw a circle, so click somewhere on the artboard, and start dragging the mouse. Hold down the shift button, while dragging, to create a perfect shaped circle. If you hold down the Alt button at the same time, you draw the circle from the center outwards.
After you created the circle, Choose the direct selection tool, and click on the top of the circle. Select the top point, and while holding down the shift button, drag the top point upwards. After you are done, release the mouse, and shift button.
All you have to do now, is fill the Egg shape, so go to window, and select, swatches. At the bottom of the swatches window, click on, swatch libraries menu, and choose, Patterns, decorative, decorative legacy. Just pick a nice pattern, and drop it onto the egg shape. At the bottom of the decorative legacy window, click on the right arrow, to go to the next set of decorative swatches.
As you can see, there are lots of patterns to choose from, so try them all out, and see what you like best!
